Honest Answers to Your Most Important Questions

Which dining hall is the best?
The answer is always Harcombe, though Schilletter has sweet flat screens. Either way though, the intestinal system requires approximately two weeks to adjust properly, so toiletries must be bought (or borrowed from University bathrooms) appropriately.

How do I get football tickets?
One option is always to wait in line outside the west end zone ticket office on your class’s designated day.  Joining IPTAY will guarantee you a seat, if not in the lower deck, on The Hill.  Another option is to join a student organization that gets block tickets.  Block tickets are usually obtained from another member of the organization and usually involves no waiting in line.  An advantage of block tickets is that you will always be sitting with that organization.  The down side is that sometimes you will be sitting in the upper deck.  Regardless, no undergraduate should have trouble obtaining football tickets.

Do a lot of students go home on weekends?
On home football weekends, it is very unlikely to find a single person going home.  Other than that, it is safe to say that many people go out of town on weekends or go camping or to the mountains.  However, Clemson is by no means a “suit case college.”

What is a Blue Book?
A blue book is simply a special book of notebook paper usually required for tests that are essay format.  Blue books can be purchased at the bookstore in Hendrix.

What is the best dorm to live in?
The answer to this question is completely dependent on the person you ask.  Living on the west side (Johnstone, Holmes, Shoeboxes) definitely has its benefits being located closer to classes and Harcombe.  The east side (High Rises, Low Rises, Apartments) is a little nicer, but its right next to Schiletter.

What should I expect when I go to Redfern?
Redfern is the infirmary at Clemson, which is mostly free to students.  It is a common “myth” among Clemson students that, regardless of your gender, you will be asked if you are pregnant.  Another semi-truth about Redfern is that, no matter what your ailment, you will most likely be given a prescription of Z-pack.  On the positive side, if you are really sick, Redfern does a very good job of informing your professors of your absence.  Additionally, professors usually accept Redfern excuses as valid.  One more thing… Ms. Susan, the lady at the appointment counter, is THE nicest lady you will ever meet.

I will have my car with me.  What are the rules for parking on campus?
If living in the dorms, your car will mostly reside in R-1 or R-2, both known as “The Pit.”
** I wish I could give more information, but the truth is, no one really knows the rules of parking at Clemson University.  The only way to know is to learn from your friends’ mistakes. **

What/where is Wesley lunch?
Wesley lunch is the perfect cure if you’ve got a case of the Mondays!  We meet up on Mondays in Harcombe behind the pizza.  It usually starts around 11, but people have been known to stay all afternoon!  Come for a quick lunch, or even stay till dinner!  Either way, there will always be a seat for you!
